To extract as much color and texture from the grapes as possible, we press the fruit whole-cluster before introducing it to open-top fermenters. Additionally, punch downs are performed several times each day. When ready, we place our wine into small French oak barrels for at least a year, to mature and develop, racking it several times during this period.
Our 2010 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, while slightly less dense than its predecessor, offers profuse aromatics and a complex flavor profile. Well-concentrated and silky in texture, this sensuous wine bestows a lovely fragrance of spiced plums and wild raspberries as well as cloves, earth, and tea leaves. Sweet juicy flavors of cherries and pomegranate culminate on a rich finish endowed with anise, vanilla and toasted oak.
