Because our Francis Coppola Reserve Syrah in 2010 was not quite as dark and dense as it typically is, we blended in small amounts of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel to add a little more richness. Plush and well-textured, this wine offers sweet, juicy flavors of blackberries, plums, and currants along with distinctive briar notes, impressions of bittersweet chocolate, and generous spice from the toast on the barrels. Enjoy this wine on its own or with beef stew, pork shoulder or a sweet potato tart.
