"My father's mother, Maria Zasa, was an Italian born in Tunisia, a French territory at the time. It was a treat to grow up with a grandmother who spoke English, Italian, Arabic and French. I remember the little French songs she would sing to us about the marionettes, and also her toast when about to sip a glass of wine. She would always say, ‘À votre santé,’ meaning to your health.”– Francis Coppola
A Toast to family traditions
In Maria Zasa's honor, we have created a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir, France's two classic Burgundian varietals, in an elegant and delicate style. Named “Votre Santé” after the traditional toast in French, these wines pay tribute to family traditions.
Tasting Notes
Our 2010 Pinot Noir delivers a light, elegant palate and lovely perfume of strawberries, cloves, tea leaves, and violets. Its vibrant flavors of raspberries and cherries are highlighted by notes of vanilla and sandalwood, which makes for a nuanced wine that is both lively and versatile.
